JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The Maintenance Tech, will carry out a wide variety of maintenance duties including preventative, emergency, property & apartment turn over and routine maintenance for multiple buildings. Assist in meeting the property goals relative to occupancy as defined in the operating plan, provide a quality living environment for the residents, and working to establish a positive, productive work relationship with the program staff. 

 

 

 

DUTIES:

 

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the overall upkeep, janitorial and day-to-day maintenance of HomeFirst Properties by performing carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, masonry, appliance, other general, and preventative maintenance repairs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) with two years related experience.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Must have CA Drivers license, clean driving record, and pass a background check.
  • Skilled in the use of common hand tools, power tools, electrical diagnostic equipment and other tools used in general maintenance, furniture set up and repair work.
  • Must be able to function in an independent environment.
  • Experience working with chemicals and cleaning compounds such as; bleach, ammonia, alcohol, glycerine, ammonium chloride, and propane.  Knowledge of mixing /quantities for creating cleaning solutions and liquids for use in everyday surface cleanups.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions, read and write short correspondence and memos.
  • Must be available for on-call services.
  • Ability to communicate (speak, read and write) in English in order to maintain safety in the workplace and serve internal and external customers

 

Level 1:

 

Employees in this first (1st) level satisfy the basic job requirements.  As the employee gains knowledge and experience, the work reviews, checks, and supervision may be reduced.  Complexity or variety of work is typical, and there are no additional technical, mathematical, or scientific requirements beyond the basic requirements at this first (1st) level.  Level 1 is typically referred to as an entry level position. 

 

Level  2:

 

Employees in this second (2nd) level require greater knowledge, training, and/or experience than level 1.  The amount of work review, checks, and supervision are less for an employee at level 2 than at level 1.  Complexity or variety of work is moderately higher than level 1 and may involve greater technical, mathematical, or scientific skills than level 1.  Level 2 is typically referred to as an intermediate level.
